TRENDnet Wireless LAN Controller (TEW-WLC100)

The TRENDnet TEW-WLC100 Wireless LAN Controller is a high-efficiency hardware management solution designed to streamline the administration, setup, and monitoring of your wireless access point network. Acting as a centralized command hub, this hardware controller eliminates the hassle of configuring individual standalone units, making it an essential platform for small-to-medium businesses, hospitality environments, and expanding school campuses.

Engineered for maximum operational fluidness, the TEW-WLC100 can simultaneously manage up to 128 access points across your local area network. It features advanced intelligent radio resource management alongside IEEE 802.11k, 802.11r (Fast BSS Transition), and Opportunistic Key Caching (OKC) protocols. These coordinated frameworks pre-authenticate mobile devices with neighboring radios, ensuring seamless, drop-free Wi-Fi roaming transitions as clients move throughout a facility.

The built-in 5-port Gigabit switch ensures rapid wired backhaul data transfers, supplemented by a dedicated USB port for easy configuration backup routines. Administrators can easily perform batch firmware upgrades, apply global SSID profiles, map visual device locations via the proprietary WAP Maps system floor plan uploads, or deploy a highly customizable captive portal for guest network hotspots.

Key Features

• Centralized Multi-AP Management: Seamlessly discover, provision, and administer up to 128 compatible indoor or outdoor wireless access points from a unified network management portal.
• Uninterrupted Smart Wi-Fi Roaming: Implements 802.11k neighbor scanning and 802.11r fast roaming alongside OKC to transition moving client hardware between nodes with zero connection drops.
• Integrated 5-Port Gigabit Switch: Equipped with five dedicated 10/100/1000Mbps RJ-45 Ethernet ports to supply reliable, high-speed physical wire pipelines to core router hubs.
• Customizable Captive Portal: Easily craft tailored splash landing pages with unique guest user credentials—perfect for commercial cafes, retail storefronts, and hospitality settings.
• WAP Maps Layout Integration: Upload architectural building floor plans directly into the system to generate an active spatial grid layout showing all linked access point nodes.
• Automated Batch Firmware Upgrades: Drastically reduce maintenance overhead by flashing software optimizations or global security parameters across multiple radios at the same time.
• Granular Bandwidth & SSID Control: Set hard upload or download traffic caps per individual client user or specific broadcast SSID to protect total network throughput.
