Asustor NAS Storage Capacity Expander (AS6004U)

Effortless, Plug-and-Play NAS Capacity Expansion

When your network storage limits are pushed to the brink, expanding your data footprint shouldn't mean managing complex array rebuilds. The Asustor AS6004U 4-Bay NAS Storage Capacity Expander provides modern business systems, power users, and creative studios with an economical, plug-and-play solution to scale storage capacity online. Connected via a high-speed USB 3.2 Gen 1 interface, this expansion tower adds 4 raw hot-swappable drive bays directly to your existing Asustor NAS ecosystem without interrupting ongoing network workflows.

Key Features & Benefits

• Instant Online Storage Scaling: Simply connect the expander to any available USB 3.0 / USB 3.2 port on your Asustor NAS to mount an independent, scalable storage volume.
• Massive Drive Compatibility: Features four hot-swappable drive bays supporting both performance 2.5-inch and high-capacity 3.5-inch SATA III hard drives and SSDs, scaling up to 88TB of raw space (using 22TB drives).
• Smart Power Sync Technology: Engineered to match the exact operational state of your host NAS. When the primary NAS enters sleep mode or powers down, the AS6004U automatically shifts into standby mode to drastically cut power consumption.
• Mechanical Security & Protection: Hard drive trays utilize a flat-head safety lock system to protect against accidental drive extraction during write sequences. Includes a dedicated USB cable safety bracket to prevent unintended connection drops.
• Smart Fan Thermal Management: Outfitted with an ultra-quiet 120mm system cooling fan that dynamically adjusts its RPM based on active drive temperatures, maintaining peak system stability under heavy data reads.
• MyArchive Cold Backup Integration: Fully compatible with Asustor's MyArchive cold backup architectures, enabling you to create removable, offline storage archives for critical security parameters.
